The Centre overlooks the A90 north of Aberdeen and is only
a few miles south of Udny Arms, making the hotel a superbly
convenient provider of wonderful hospitality and comforts
to the conference delegate, business guest or convention attendee.
The completion of an ambitious £18 million redevelopment
project in Spring 2003 marked the beginning of an exciting
new era at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC).
As one of Scotland’s most important recent development
projects, the expansion and refurbishment of the North’s
leading events venue is of great significance to the City
of Aberdeen and the surrounding area. By the year 2005/6,
it is estimated that the Centre’s contribution to the
local economy will amount to £40 million per annum.
As a result of the redevelopment project, AECC now boasts
a wide range of world-class convention facilities as well
as a 450- seat auditorium. Its refurbished Boyd Orr hall offers
plenary capacity for up to 2000 delegates, making it an ideal
location for major meetings and conventions. A further two
new 565m2 multi-purpose halls, known as the Gordon and Crombie
suites, provide further large, flexible meeting spaces for
conferences, small exhibitions and banqueting functions. |
